Mominul Haque made Sri Lanka suffer with a dominant century for Bangladesh on day one of the first Test in Chittagong.

The 26-year-old hit a masterful 175 not out as the hosts reached 374-4 at the close.

Haque brought up his ton in just 96 balls, the second quickest in Tests by a Bangladesh batsman.

He shared a third-wicket stand of 136 with Mushfiqur Rahim, who fell eight short of his century with five overs remaining.

Liton Das then departed the next ball to Suranga Lakmal to give Sri Lanka a late reward for their day of toiling in the field.

Tamim Iqbal had earlier made 52 before falling to Dilruwan Perera, and fellow opener Imrul Kayes was removed by Lakshan Sandakan for 40.

Stand-in captain Mahmudullah ended the day on nine not out.
